Who Is Eligible for a Saudi Transit Visa on Arrival?
Most passengers transiting through Dammam can get a transit visa on arrival, but you must meet specific document requirements.
According to transit visa directives from King Fahd International Airport’s immigration authorities, you qualify if you hold:
- A passport valid for more than 6 months
- One of the following valid documents:
- Kuwait residence permit
- Visit visa or family visa (valid for more than 21 days)
- Work visa (valid for more than 1 month)
Six nationalities are excluded from the visa-on-arrival process and must obtain a transit visa in advance:
- Iraqi
- Iranian
- Libyan
- Sudanese
- Syrian
- Palestinian
If you hold one of these nationalities, you must secure a pre-approved Saudi transit visa before your travel date.

How the Jazeera Airways Bus Transfer and Visa Process Works
Jazeera Airways provides a dedicated bus transfer between Kuwait and the Saudi airports. The process differs depending on whether you use the bus or drive yourself.
If You Take the Jazeera Airways Bus
According to Jazeera Airways’ official FAQ, here is what you need:
- A valid passport
- Your Kuwait Civil ID
- Jazeera Airways will arrange the KSA transit visa at the border on your behalf (for passengers with valid Kuwait residency)
You must complete check-in at Mishref, Kuwait International Fairground, Hall 8.
Check-in at the Saudi airports is not permitted. Jazeera relocated its check-in operations to Mishref in March 2026.
If You Drive Yourself
Jazeera Airways will not provide visa support for passengers using their own vehicle. Self-drive passengers must arrange their own Saudi visa before departure. You still need:
- A valid passport
- Kuwait Civil ID
- A valid KSA visa (arranged independently)
Even self-drive passengers must check in at Mishref, Hall 8. Check-in is not available at Qaisumah or Dammam airport.
For Passengers Arriving in Kuwait
If you’re flying into DMM or AQI and continuing to Kuwait, you’ll also need the right documents. According to Jazeera Airways, arriving passengers need:
- A valid passport
- Kuwait Civil ID (for residents) or a valid Kuwaiti entry visa
- A KSA transit visa — passengers with valid Kuwaiti residency and a KSA transit visa will be allowed entry
The bus will take you from the airport to Mishref, Hall 8, where you can collect any checked baggage before exiting.

Jazeera advises passengers to report to Mishref at least 17 hours before their scheduled departure.
The long lead time accounts for the overland bus journey from Kuwait to the Saudi airport.
Report to Mishref only after receiving travel confirmation from Jazeera Airways. Make sure you have all of these documents ready:
- Valid passport (more than 6 months validity)
- Saudi visa (arranged by Jazeera for bus passengers with Kuwait residency, or independently for self-drive and non-resident passengers)
