Questions
How many four-star hotels does Singapore have, and what do they cost?
A city-wide search returned 96 of them. 75 clear a guest score of 8.0 and sit where their district says they do, and those are the ones shown here. Bugis holds the most, with 20. On the same nights the median four-star room sampled at SGD 292 against SGD 603 for five-star, and the cheapest four-star came in at SGD 144.
Which area is best for a four-star hotel in Singapore?
Bugis is the cheapest of the four areas here, from SGD 144, though that room sits outside the ten best-reviewed listed above. It also has the most choice, with 20. Orchard costs more and puts you on the shopping strip. Chinatown and Clarke Quay are smaller sets, so they sell out sooner.
Are there four-star hotels in Marina Bay?
No. Every Marina Bay property in this search is five-star, so a four-star budget will not put you there. Clarke Quay is the closest area to it with four-star rooms, about a fifteen-minute walk along the river.
What do the prices on this page mean?
Each one is a “from” rate for two adults sharing one room, sampled on a midweek two-night stay so no weekend premium is baked in. Hotel rates move constantly, so treat them as a guide to the going rate rather than a quote, and check your own dates.
How were these hotels picked?
Every property in the search rated exactly four stars, with a guest score of 8.0 or better, ranked by that score. The one marked as best reviewed is the top-scoring hotel in the selected area on at least 500 reviews, so a near-perfect score from a handful of guests cannot win it.

How these figures were produced
- One city-wide search, read with a filter of four stars minimum and four stars maximum, so nothing five-star or three-star can appear. Property types were limited to hotels and resorts, which excludes hostels, capsule hotels and plain apartments.
- The topic has no fixed travel window, so nothing on this page links into a dated search. Rates come from one midweek two-night sample purely to give a “from” figure, and that window is stated in the strip above and nowhere else. Every link opens an undated search you set your own dates on.
- SGD, the currency Singapore hotels quote. A rate shown in anything else is a conversion of that number, and it moves with the exchange rate as well as with the room.
- Areas are the districts the search itself reports. Five properties were excluded because the district they were labelled with sat more than two kilometres from the middle of that district, measured against the district’s own members. One of them would otherwise have been the pick for Orchard while sitting well outside it.
- Star ratings were checked before being relied on: 27 of 367 Singapore properties returned no usable star rating, so the field is sound here. Guest scores and review counts are the search’s own.
- No distance to the city centre is quoted. The figure the search supplies for Singapore is measured from a point about nine kilometres from downtown, which would have put every central hotel on this page six to eight kilometres “from the centre”. District names are used instead.
