Note that some countries have their visa-free stay listed as “3 months” rather than “90 days.” While similar, these reflect the specific terms of each bilateral agreement. Canada enjoys the longest visa-free stay at 6 months under a special bilateral arrangement.
Entry Requirements for Visa-Free Travellers
Being on the visa-free list does not mean you can simply show up with nothing prepared.
Here is what you need to have in order before arriving in South Korea.
Valid Passport
South Korea requires a valid passport for entry. While there is no official minimum validity requirement beyond the passport being valid on the date of entry, most airlines and travel authorities recommend at least 6 months of remaining validity to avoid any issues.
e-Arrival Card
Foreign nationals entering South Korea are required to submit an entry declaration form. The e-Arrival Card can be submitted online from 3 days before arrival, but paper entry declaration forms remain available.
You can submit it at e-arrivalcard.go.kr via desktop or mobile browser. The form requires your passport details, flight number, arrival date, and your accommodation address and phone number in Korea. It is free of charge and takes only a few minutes.
If you have a valid K-ETA, you are automatically exempt from submitting the e-Arrival Card.
K-ETA
Even if your country is on the visa-free list, South Korea normally requires a Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) as a pre-approval before entry.
However, as of 2026, the South Korean government has extended a temporary K-ETA exemption through 31 December 2026 for citizens of 22 countries and special regions. More on this in our dedicated guide:

Customs Declaration
If you have goods to declare on arrival in South Korea, you must declare them voluntarily. If you have nothing to declare, you can proceed through the Nothing to Declare channel.
Q-Code (Health Declaration)
Depending on your country of departure, you may need to register a Q-Code for quarantine inspection purposes. Travellers arriving from countries classified under South Korea’s “strict quarantine inspection area” are required to register a Q-Code or fill out a health questionnaire. Q-Code registration opens 7 days before arrival and can be completed at qcode.kdca.go.kr.
