What is the cost of a Spain visa?
Travelling to Spain involves obtaining a visa, and the visa costs vary based on the purpose and duration of your visit. The visa fees encompass various expenses linked to the visa’s type and duration. Travellers must understand the expenses associated with a Spanish visa to budget appropriately and fulfil all the necessary criteria.

Tourist visa
The Spain tourist visa falls under the Schengen short-stay visa category and is required by travellers whose primary reason for visiting Spain is leisure, tourism, or sightseeing. This visa permits a stay of up to 90 days within Spain and remains valid for 180 days.
According to the latest news, the European Commission has hiked visa fees by 12.5%. The new fees, as outlined in the Official Journal of the European Union, specify that adult applicants will now pay EUR 90 instead of EUR 80, and children between 6 and 12 years will pay EUR 45 instead of EUR 40. This change applies only to Schengen areas from 11 June 2024. Children under the age of six are exempt from paying the Schengen visa fee entirely.

Digital nomad visa
Much like a full employment visa, the Spain Digital Nomad visa offers temporary residency and a remote working permit to foreign nationals as long as they meet the monthly income requirement and fulfill other necessary conditions.
The cost of a Spain Digital Nomad visa is EUR 80. However, you should also budget for additional fees for translation, apostille, and a certificate for a clear criminal record.
Please be aware that your final payment will be for the NIE, which is approximately EUR 20.
Golden visa
For non-EU citizens interested in making significant investments in the Spanish economy, the Spain golden visa, often known as the investor visa, offers an opportunity. It allows you and your family to reside in Spain and enjoy visa-free travel across the Schengen Zone.
The prerequisite to obtain a golden visa in Spain is that you must possess a minimum real estate investment of EUR 500,000. Moreover, a visa fee equivalent to EUR 80 will apply.
Please note that since nationals of Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom must pay different fees, the amount of the visa price must be consulted with the Consular office.
Work visa
To work in Spain as a non-EU citizen, securing a work visa is essential. The Spain work visa gives you the legal status to live and work in the country. The specific category of the visa you need will, however, depend on factors like the type and duration of your intended employment.
The cost of a Spanish work visa varies depending on the type of visa you’re applying for and your nationality. The standard visa price is EUR 128. However, different rates may be applicable due to reciprocity considerations if you are a citizen of Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, the United States of America, or the United Kingdom.

Student visa
If you’re an international student from a country outside the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland, you will typically need a visa to study in Spain.
The fee for a Spanish student visa varies depending on the visa type and your country of origin. However, the standard fees for Spanish student visas are as follows:
- Study visa – €60
- Schengen student visa – €80
- Schengen student visa for citizens of the US and Canada – €115.
Please note that for study stays of less than 90 days, applicants do not require a study visa. However, depending on the applicant’s nationality, a short-stay visa or Schengen visa may be required.
