1. Passengers and airline crew must complete the “Traveler’s Surveillance Form” for Tanzania at https://afyamsafiri.moh.go.tz/ and for Zanzibar at https://healthtravelznz.mohz.go.tz at most 24 hours before arrival.
2. Passengers must have a negative COVID-19 NAAT or RT-PCR test taken at most 96 hours before departure from the first embarkation point.
– This does not apply to passengers who are 5 years or younger.
3. Passengers who in the past 14 days have been in or transited through Congo (Dem. Rep.), Egypt, France, India, Malawi, Rwanda, South Africa, USA, Uganda or United Kingdom are subject to a COVID-19 antigen test upon arrival at their own expense. The test can be paid before departure at https://zanzibarcovidtesting.co.tz/app/home .
– This does not apply to passengers who are 5 years or younger.

 

Detailed Tourist Information

International flights have now resumed. Travellers should be prepared for unexpected travel restrictions to be put into effect with little or no advance notice.

All passengers arriving in Tanzania will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate upon arrival. The test should be taken within 72 hours of arrival in Tanzania. All passengers travelling to Tanzania must complete an online Traveller’s Surveillance Form. This form must be submitted no more than 24 hours before arrival.

All passengers entering Tanzania will be subjected to enhanced screening for COVID-19 including a mandatory rapid test. The cost for rapid testing is 25 USD per traveller which must be paid in cash on arrival. The Government of Tanzania is also implementing temperature scanning for all international passengers arriving into Tanzania.

If you test positive for COVID-19 on arrival, you will be required to self-isolate for 14 days.
 

Lockdown Details

There are no restrictions on public gatherings or services. Some hotels, bars and restaurants remain closed for the time being. You should continue to practice measures recommended by PHE such as hand washing and social distancing.
