The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has revised its visa, legalization and consular fees effective 27 April 2026. The new rates apply at the Embassy and all Royal Thai Consulates-General across India until further notice.

Most Indian tourists will not be affected by these changes. Indian passport holders currently enjoy 60 days of visa-free entry to Thailand for tourism.
The tourist and transit fees above only apply if you plan to stay beyond the 60-day limit or need a multiple-entry permit. Note that Thailand is considering cutting the visa-free stay to 30 days — no date has been set, but it is worth monitoring.
Updated legalization and consular fees
Document legalization is now a flat INR 1,400 across all categories, replacing the earlier tiered rates. This applies to birth certificates, marriage certificates, academic documents and commercial papers submitted for use in Thailand.
Legalization is handled at the Embassy in New Delhi and at the consulates-general in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and other cities.
Consular services for Thai nationals in India have also been repriced:

All applications at the Embassy are by appointment only. The consular section accepts payment via bank demand draft made out to “Royal Thai Embassy New Delhi.”
Who needs to pay these fees
If you are an Indian passport holder visiting Thailand for up to 60 days, you do not need a visa and these fee changes will not affect you. Just complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival.
The updated fees apply to:
- Travelers staying longer than 60 days or needing multiple-entry tourist visas
- Students, employees, retirees and dependants on non-immigrant visas
- Remote workers and digital nomads applying for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
- Investors and professionals applying for SMART or LTR visas
- Anyone legalizing Indian documents for use in Thailand, or Thai nationals renewing passports in India
All visa categories can be applied for online through the Thailand e-Visa portal at thaievisa.go.th. The portal displays fees in INR for Indian applicants.
