The UAE Embassy in Tokyo has announced that UAE nationals holding ordinary passports will now be able to visit Japan visa-free for up to 90 days, effective from 1 July 2025. This represents a significant extension from the previous 30-day limit, Wego learns from the official announcement.
This updated visa waiver measure aims to enhance tourism, strengthen bilateral business ties, and facilitate greater cultural and personal exchanges between the UAE and Japan. The initiative is expected to significantly boost travel convenience and encourage more UAE nationals to visit Japan for tourism, business meetings, and family visits.
Eligible travelers must hold valid ICAO-compliant UAE passports. A reciprocal arrangement has been in place since August 2024, allowing Japanese nationals similar 90-day visa-free access to the UAE.
