The time required to process a work permit in the UAE will be reduced. As informed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), teh authorities in the UAE will be upgrading the ‘Work Permit Renewal’, Wego reports.

Following the launch of the work bundle by MoHRE, it is going to take 5 days to process a work permit across the UAE. Six new upgrades have been made to the Work Permit Renewal Service:

  • streamlining requirements through unified data exchange between relevant authorities
  • eliminating the need to need to apply for services with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenships, Customs & Port Security at the start
  • reducing the days required to process the permit from 27 days to 5 days
  • minimizing the number of required documents from 3 to only 1 (employment contract approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), signed by both the employer and employee.)
  • reducing the processing time from 6 minutes to just 1 minute
  • enabling automatic approval

The work bundle platform is anticipated to smoothen the hiring process, as well as the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees in the UAE. It has been championed by several government ministries and federal authorities.
