What is an urgent passport?

Urgent passports are issued for eligible applicants who wish to process their passport issuance in a shorter period. They will have to pay a higher processing fee to access this service.

Required documents

All the documents required for an urgent passport are basically the same as those required for the standard passport application. They have to prepare:

For 18-year-old applicants & above

Original Bank Paid Fee Challan (receipt) of prescribed fee or e-Payment Confirmation Detail (SMS/Email along with PSID No.)
Original Valid CNIC/NICOP with a photocopy.
The previous passport is in its original with its photocopy (if issued).
NOC if the applicant is a government servant.
Foreign passports, along with their photocopies, are for dual nationals only.
The lost passport police report mentioned the previous passport number (only in lost passport cases).

For applicants under 18 years old/minor

Original Bank Paid Fee Challan (receipt) of prescribed fee or e-Payment confirmation detail (SMS/Email along with PSID No.)
Original Children Registration Certificate(CRC/Form”B”) or FRC or Smart Card with one photocopy.
Copies of valid CNICs of both parents.
The minor will be accompanied by either his/her parent or a legal guardian appointed by the court of law, along with the parent’s/guardian’s original valid CNIC/NICOP.
Foreign passport, along with its photocopy, for dual nationals only.
If either parent is deceased:
- Provide the original and a photocopy of their death certificate.
If parents are separated or divorced:
- Submit custody papers granted by the Court of Law.
If a guardian is involved:
- Present a guardianship certificate issued by the court of law.
- The appointed guardian must accompany the minor to the passport office, along with their original CNIC and a photocopy.
If the passport is lost:
- Provide a police report that includes the previous passport number.

Urgent Pakistan passport processing time

After submitting the required documents and paying the fee, an urgent Pakistan passport will be issued in 5 working days.

How to apply for an urgent Pakistan passport?

There are two types of passport application processes available:

Online passport renewal for overseas Pakistanis:

Visit the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports official website.
Start a renewal application and enter your details.
Specify your current and permanent addresses.
Complete the payment process.
Include your photograph and required supporting documents.
Download the provided form and scan your fingerprints (4 required) at 600 DPI in Grayscale JPEG/JPG format.
Check your information, sign the declaration, and submit the application.

Application at Regional Passport Office/Pakistan Mission Abroad for New/Renewal/Modification cases

Visit a nearby RPO/Pakistan Mission Abroad. Bring your e-payment receipt and all necessary documents. You can make the payment on the website.
Approach the customer service counter for assistance with the application process.
Go to the token counter and follow the officer’s instructions. You will receive a token with your application details.
Visit the biometric counter for fingerprint capture.
Proceed to the data entry counter. The officer will input your information, which you will verify and sign.
Approach the ECL/BL desk for a clearance stamp, verifying you are not on the blacklist.
Have an interview with the Assistant Director or Officer in charge.
Retrieve your passport on the scheduled date or wait for delivery to your registered address.

How to check the status of the passport?

The status of applicants’ passports will be informed via the registered mobile number/email address. Pakistanis currently in Pakistan will be notified via SMS service 9988. For Pakistanis overseas, tracking their passport status is straightforward affair. You can do so by visiting the respective embassy or consulate websites.
