Australia: Closed for Travel

Entry restricted for international travelers
Most travelers are not allowed to enter Australia. Individuals may request exceptions to the entry restrictions online.

Details and Exemptions:Entry restrictions do not apply to:
-Australian citizens;
-Permanent residents;
-Immediate family members of an Australian citizen or permanent resident (with proof);
-New Zealand citizens who are usually a resident in Australia;
-Essential travel approved by the Australian Border Force;
-Fully vaccinated travelers arriving in New South Wales.

COVID-19 test required

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers arriving or transiting through Australia must have a negative COVID-19 PCR (RT-PCR) test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 3 days before departure, and must be provided to your airline at check-in.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers in transit for less than 8 hours;
-Travelers under the age of 5;
-Travelers with extenuating circumstances, such as where there is no access to testing;
-Travelers arriving from a green zone flight;

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in the airports and in-flight
Travelers must wear masks on all international and domestic flights and in the airports.

Travelers must wear masks on public transport and in crowded areas where it is difficult to maintain a 1.5 meters physical distance from others.

-Travelers under the age of 12.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Fully vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents are required to provide valid proof of vaccination before departure to Australia.

Citizens who have been vaccinated in Australia are required to present the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) in digital or paper format.

Citizens who have been vaccinated in a third country and do not have access to the ICVC must present a foreign vaccination certificate.

Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if they have received a full course of a TGA-approved vaccine and at least 7 days must have passed since the final dose.
The following vaccines are accepted:
AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria and Covishield), Pfizer/BioNTech Comirnaty, Moderna Spikevax, Sinovac Coronavac, Johnson & Johnson/ Janssen-Cilag.

Travelers are considered fully vaccinated if they received mixed doses of the vaccines above.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers under the age of 12;
-Travelers with medical exemptions.
