Belgium: Open for Travel

Travel is allowed with restrictions for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers arriving from selected countries are allowed to enter Belgium. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Details and Exemptions:Entry restrictions do not apply to:
-Belgian citizens or those whose main residence is in Belgium;
-Travelers with essential reasons;
-Unvaccinated travelers under 18 years of age are allowed entry as long as they travel with an adult with valid proof of vaccination.

Quarantine is required

Mandatory quarantine and testing for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers arriving from selected countries without a negative COVID-19 test result are required to quarantine until they test negative from a test taken on day 1 or 2 after their arrival. After leaving quarantine, they still will be required to take a test on day 7.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers who will be in Belgium for 48 hours or less.

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers aged 13 years and older must wear masks in public places.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Fully vaccinated travelers must have a vaccination certificate. Travelers must have received the last dose required at least 2 weeks before travel. Vaccine certificates recognized by the European Commission or by Belgium and their non-European equivalents are accepted.

Approved vaccines: Pfizer/BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca/Oxford (Vaxzevria), Janssen, Covishield.

Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.

Details and Exemptions:Unvaccinated travelers under 18 years of age are allowed entry as long as they travel with an adult with valid proof of vaccination.

Mandatory passenger locator form
All travelers are required to complete a Passenger Locator Form a maximum of 6 months before arrival in Belgium. The form should be completed online and travelers will receive a QR code via email.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers arriving by train or bus from a country in the European Union or Schengen area, and staying less than 48 hours;
-Travelers returning to Belgium after a stay abroad of less than 48 hours.

Optional Documents for your Trip

Proof of negative COVID-19 test result required for vaccinated travelers to avoid quarantine
Fully vaccinated travelers coming from selected countries with a negative COVID-19 PCR test result are not required to quarantine on arrival. This test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Belgium. Travelers with only a vaccination certificate will be required to quarantine. Only vaccine certificates recognized by the European Commission or by Belgium are accepted.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers with a recognized recovery certificate no older than 180 days.
