French Polynesia: Closed for Travel

Entry restricted for international travelers
Most travelers arriving are not allowed to enter French Polynesia. Only travelers with essential purposes are allowed to enter.

10 days quarantine

Mandatory 10-day quarantine and testing
Travelers arriving from selected countries are required to quarantine for 10 days in Tahiti. Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test on days 4 and 8 after arrival, at their own expense.

COVID-19 test required

Mandatory COVID-19 testing on arrival
Travelers are required to take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test at the airport on arrival, at their own expense.

-Travelers under the age of 6.

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory on flights and in the airport
Travelers aged 11 years and older must wear masks in the airports and in-flight.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Travelers who are fully vaccinated must present a vaccination certificate showing that they completed the full vaccination before departure to Tahiti.

The vaccination schedule is considered complete 28 days after administration of a 1 dose for the Janssen vaccine and 7 days after administration of a second dose for other vaccines like Pfizer (Comirnaty), Moderna, AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria, or Covishield), or 7 days after receiving 1 dose for travelers who have had a history of Covid-19 (only 1 dose is necessary).

The measures applied to vaccinated adults extend under the same conditions to minors accompanying them, whether or not they are vaccinated.

Mandatory travel registration form
All travelers including citizens and residents arriving by air are required to register on the Polynesian Electronic Travel Information System (ETIS) no later than 6 days and at most 30 days before departure and confirmation must be presented at check-in. Minors traveling with their parents can be included in their ETIS form.

During the application process, travelers might be requested to complete an additional step to request approval from the High Commissioner.

Details and Exemptions:Travelers aged 11 years and older accompanying a vaccinated adult are exempt from declaring an overriding reason.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure or an antigen test taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure.

-Travelers under the age of 12.
