New Zealand: Closed for Travel

Entry restricted for international travelers
International travelers are not allowed to enter New Zealand.

Details and Exemptions:Entry restrictions do not apply to:
-Citizens of New Zealand;
-Residents with valid travel conditions;
-Family members of citizens and residents with valid documents;
-Diplomats;
-Limited numbers of international students in order to continue their studies in 2021.

14 days quarantine

Mandatory 14-day quarantine
Travelers to New Zealand will need to register on the Managed Isolation Allocation System as the first step to securing their place in a managed isolation facility. Before booking flights, travelers need to register for a voucher for managed isolation. Travelers are required to quarantine for 14 days on arrival at a designated facility.

COVID-19 test required

Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
Travelers arriving in New Zealand from selected countries will be required to take a COVID-19 test a maximum of 24 hours after arrival in a managed quarantine facility. Arrivals must remain in their managed quarantine facility room until the results of the test are known. Travelers will also be required to take a test on day 3 and day 12 after arrival.

No proof of a negative COVID-19 test required for transit
Travelers with flight connections in New Zealand are exempt from the COVID-19 test requirement as long as they remain in the international departure area.

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in some public and private places
Travelers are recommended to wear masks in public places when unable to stay 2 meters away from other people. Travelers legally must wear a face covering at commercial establishments.

Travelers must wear masks on domestic flights and on all public transport.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers arriving from selected countries must have a negative COVID-19 (NAAT, PCR, RT-PCR, TMA, LAMP, or antigen) test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure.

This requirement also applies to passengers in transit.

Details and Exemptions:This test requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers under the age of 2.
