Russian Federation: Open for Travel

Travel is allowed with restrictions
Travelers who are residents of selected countries and arriving from any of these countries are allowed to enter Russia.

Travelers who transit through a country that is not on the above list will not be allowed to enter Russia.

Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Quarantine may be required
Travelers will be required to self-quarantine if they develop any symptoms of COVID-19 and test positive for COVID-19.

Details and Exemptions:Local jurisdictions set their own rules regarding quarantine requirements for travelers arriving in the country. Check with local authorities for current requirements.

COVID-19 test required

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers from selected countries must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Russia. The test result must be in English or Russian (a notarized translation to Russian is accepted). Travelers are also required to print and fill out the COVID-19 testing form.

Details and Exemptions:This does not apply to:
-Russian Federation Nationals, who must take a test no more than 3 days after arrival and submit the results of their test electronically.

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers are required to wear masks in public places such as on public transportation and in crowded public areas.

Temperature screening and a medical examination are required for all travelers on arrival.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory medical insurance
Most travelers are required to obtain medical insurance before they commence their journey, regardless of the purpose of their visit.

The insurance policy must meet the following requirements:
-Cover the entire duration of the stay in Russia;
-Indicate the geographical area of coverage as worldwide, Russian Federation or Europe (Russia included);
-Contain the date, stamp, and signature of the insurer, the policy number, the full name of the person insured; the address and contact details of the insurer; the list of medical services and medical transport including repatriation.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Russian nationals.

Mandatory health declaration form for Russian citizens
Russian citizens returning to Russia are required to complete an online health declaration form. This can be done when purchasing a ticket, but no later than check-in for the flight.
