Switzerland: Open for Travel

Travel allowed for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers from selected countries are allowed to enter Switzerland. Please check the documentation, quarantine and/or testing requirements before traveling.

COVID-19 test not required

No proof of COVID-19 test results for vaccinated travelers

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers aged 12 years and older must wear masks on public transportation, indoors, events, and in public places where the physical distance of 1.5 meters can not be maintained.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Vaccinated travelers must have become fully vaccinated in the last 12 months before travel with a vaccine authorized for travel to Switzerland such as Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Janssen, and others.

Travelers from a country outside of the EU and that have made an agreement with the Swiss government to accept foreign vaccination certificates may provide a vaccination certificate issued in those countries. Currently, vaccination certificates are also accepted from these countries Albania, Andorra, Faroe Islands, Vatican City, Israel, Monaco, Morocco, North Macedonia, Panama, San Marino, Turkey, and Ukraine.

Travelers unable to present a valid certificate may be required to comply with rules for unvaccinated travelers.

Travelers with access to the EU Digital Certificate may use it to present proof.

Details and Exemptions:Travelers that have received a combination of two different vaccines may still be considered fully vaccinated. Please check the link for more information on accepted vaccine combinations.

Mandatory health pass for public activity
Travelers aged 16 years and older must have proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative test for COVID-19 in order to enter events, festivals, bars, restaurants, museums, and other venues and activities in Switzerland.

If you have been vaccinated, you can either show a Swiss COVID Certificate, EU Digital COVID Certificate, or a certificate that is compatible with the EU Digital Covid Certificate.

Travelers who have been vaccinated abroad with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and who are resident in or traveling to Switzerland are able to obtain a Swiss COVID certificate. This means that travelers who have been vaccinated abroad or have recovered abroad, such as tourists, can also participate in social activities in Switzerland. The documents can be submitted electronically.

You will be issued with the COVID certificate on the application on paper or as a PDF document with a QR code. With the COVID Certificate app, you can host your COVID certificate on your mobile device.

If you are unvaccinated, you must have a test, and if the result is negative you can then be issued with a COVID certificate.

Your personal details on the COVID certificate should correspond with those in your passport or on your ID card.

Mandatory entry form
Travelers, including those in transit, must fill up an entry form before entering Switzerland. The form can be completed 48 hours before entry at the earliest.
