US To Thailand Travel Restrictions, Flights News & Travel Ban In 2021 – Advisory & Requirements

Thailand: Open for Travel

Travel is allowed for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers are allowed to enter some regions of Thailand. Travelers must stay in one of these regions for at least 7 days before traveling to other areas of Thailand. Travelers are not allowed to enter other regions of Thailand unless they have entered through one of the specified regions first. Please see the source for a list of regions. Please check the documentation, quarantine, and/or testing requirements before traveling.

Details and Exemptions:Other travelers allowed entry are:
-Unvaccinated travelers under the age of 18 who are traveling with their fully vaccinated parents or guardians. The minors must have a valid negative test result;
-Unvaccinated Thai citizens and residents.

7 days quarantine

Mandatory 7-day quarantine for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers who have been vaccinated with a vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organization (WHO), are required to quarantine for 7 days on arrival.

To be considered fully vaccinated the full course of vaccination must have been completed no less than 14 days before travel.

Travelers must present the vaccine certificate (either the original or a printed copy) upon arrival.

Travelers will be required to undergo 2 COVID-19 RT-PCR tests during their quarantine, the first on arrival and the second on days 6-7.

COVID-19 test required

Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
Travelers must take a COVID-19 RT-PCR test on arrival at the airport and wait at their hotel room for the test results.

Travelers under the age of 6 will receive a COVID-19 saliva test.

Masks are mandatory in public

Mandatory COVID-19 testing booking
Travelers must book and pay for their domestic COVID-19 RT-PCR testing before traveling to Thailand.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Thai citizens and residents.

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Travelers must present proof of having received all doses required of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) or the World Health Organization (WHO). The full course of vaccination must have been completed no less than 14 days before travel.

Mandatory certificate of entry
All travelers must fill in a digital certificate of entry COE at least 3-7 business days before travel. Travelers must have proof they bought their return air tickets.

Mandatory health insurance
Travelers are required to provide proof of medical insurance with minimum coverage of USD 100,000 covering COVID-19 treatment in Thailand.
The policy should include in-patient hospitalization and cover the whole period of stay in Thailand.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Thai nationals.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result. The result must be issued a maximum of 72 hours before departure to Thailand.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Thai nationals traveling with a Thai passport as long they do not enter the Sandbox Program.
