Uruguay: Closed for Travel

Entry restricted for international travelers
Most international travelers are not allowed to enter Uruguay. Travelers looking for an exemption from the entry ban must have the proper documentation and a valid reason.

Details and Exemptions:Entry restrictions do not apply to:
-Uruguayan citizens;
-Travelers with resident status;
-Travelers who can enter Uruguay as long as they have the proper documentation are travelers with business, economic, judicial, humanitarian, diplomatic, work, or family reasons.

Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to quarantine on arrival in Uruguay.

COVID-19 test required

Mandatory COVID-19 test on day 7 for vaccinated travelers
Fully vaccinated travelers must take a COVID-19 test 7 days after they took their test to travel to Uruguay.

Details and Exemptions:Travelers who do not take tests are required to quarantine for 14 days on arrival. Unvaccinated travelers who test negative on day 7 can leave quarantine.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Fully vaccinated travelers must have a vaccination certificate showing they have received all doses required of the COVID-19 vaccine in the last 6 months and that 14 days have passed since they have received their final dose.

Travelers must have health insurance coverage in Uruguay.

Travelers must apply for an entry authorization permit before traveling to Uruguay.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Uruguayan citizens and residency permit holders.

Travelers must complete their Health Declaration form 48 hours before boarding their flight.

Uruguayans and residency permit holders can submit this form via mobile app or online form.
