Vietnam’s e-visa is accepted at 15 operating airport border gates across the country, from Hanoi in the north to Phu Quoc in the deep south.
You can use any operating airport border gate on Vietnam’s approved e-visa list if your flight arrives there.

Two More Airports Coming Soon
Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province will be Vietnam’s newest major gateway.
Located about 40 km east of Ho Chi Minh City, it’s designed to eventually handle 100 million passengers annually and take pressure off the overcrowded Tan Son Nhat.
The Vietnamese government is targeting commercial operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. Once open, it will accept e-visas — Resolution 389/NQ-CP already lists it as an approved e-visa air border gate when it is put into operation.
Gia Binh International Airport is also pre-approved for e-visa entry under the same resolution, though its opening timeline has not been publicly confirmed.
E-Visa Basics You Need Before Booking
Vietnam’s e-visa is available to citizens of every country and territory. There are no nationality restrictions — the system was opened to all nationalities on 15 August 2023.
The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days and may be issued for single or multiple entry. If you hold a multiple-entry e-visa, you can leave and re-enter Vietnam within the validity period.
Key details:
- Fee: US$25 for a single-entry e-visa, or US$50 for a multiple-entry e-visa valid for 90 days or less
- Processing time: typically 3 working days, not counting weekends and Vietnamese public holidays
- Where to apply: The official portal is evisa.gov.vn — avoid third-party sites that charge extra fees
- What you need: A valid passport, a passport photo, and an image of your passport data page
- Entry ports: Vietnam has 83 approved e-visa ports across airports, land borders, and seaports, including 15 operating airport border gates and 2 future airport border gates listed for use once they open
Phu Quoc Island has an additional perk.
Visitors to Phu Quoc can stay up to 30 days without any visa at all, as long as they remain on the island. If you plan to travel to the mainland, you’ll still need the e-visa.
