Top 10 global destinations for Indian travelers
Wego data points to sustained demand for Gulf cities in early 2025, with Kuwait, Dubai, Riyadh, and Doha ranking as the most searched global destinations. These cities not only serve as transit and business hubs but are also key links for India’s vast expatriate community, especially for those traveling for work and family visits.
Kuwait shows the strongest growth among all destinations, with searches rising nearly 40% year-on-year. It also offers one of the lowest average fares in the GCC, just under INR 16,000.
Dubai, a long-standing favorite among Indian travelers, continues to draw steady interest Its continued dominance is driven by a mix of leisure, business, and visits to family and friends, especially given the large Indian expatriate community living in the UAE.
Riyadh and Doha both register notable jumps in interest, 20% and 34%, respectively. Fares to these cities also rose, reflecting heightened demand.
Bangkok and Muscat remain popular destinations for short-haul escapes, while Singapore experiences a significant decline in search volume.
London continues to draw interest, with airfares holding steady compared to last year, highlighting its continued appeal among Indian long-haul travelers. Manama and Kuala Lumpur complete the top 10, underscoring Indian travelers’ continued preference for destinations that offer familiarity, ease, and value.

Wego data reveals that Indian travelers are keeping Europe firmly on their radar in 2025, with a blend of perennial favorites and fast-rising cities capturing their interest.
London continues to see strong demand from Indian travelers, remaining a top long-haul destination with steady airfare trends. Meanwhile, Moscow stands out as the fastest-rising destination within Europe’s top five, with a massive 73.8% increase in searches and a 12.5% rise in fares. The surge is likely fueled by simplified e-visa procedures, stronger cultural ties, and increased air connectivity. In contrast, Baku experiences a slight softening in demand, even as fares inch upward.
Paris and Zurich are among the most popular European destinations from India, for good reasons. According to the European Commission’s 2024 State of Schengen report, France and Switzerland were the top two Schengen visa issuers to Indian travelers last year.
Zurich, in particular, gains ground in 2025 with a nearly 19% drop in fares, due in part to faster appointment availability in cities such as New Delhi and Mumbai, making it a timely and attractive option for European-bound Indian travelers.

Bangkok leads regional interest, with searches up nearly 9%. Bangkok offers a familiar kind of buzz that many Indian travelers find energizing, with crowded night markets, affordable food, visa-free access, and a quick flight away.
Ho Chi Minh emerges as a rising destination, gaining ground among Indian travelers thanks to its budget-friendly appeal, relaxed visa policies, and increasing flight connectivity. Recent boosts in MICE tourism and business delegations from India may also be contributing to its upward trend.
Kuala Lumpur and Bali also remain in the mix, with their visa-free and visa-on-arrival facilities, respectively, continuing to attract travelers seeking culture, relaxation, and value within a short-haul radius.
Singapore, by contrast, has seen a notable drop in interest this year, with searches down by over 21%. While the city-state remains well-connected as a global aviation hub and a magnet for professionals, its overall cost of stay is typically higher than that of its neighbors. Combined that with its restrictive visa access, Singapore hasn’t made as much stride in attracting Indian travelers this year so far.
