New Year’s Day (1 January)

Vesak Day (12 May)
In 2025, Vesak Day will be commemorated on Monday, 12, of the Gregorian month of May.
Vesak Day celebrates the birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha, the founder of the Buddhist religion. Gautama Buddha was believed to be born on this day and attained enlightenment and salvation (nirvana).
Hari Raya Haji/Eid-al-Adha (7 June)
The holiday for Eid-ul-Adha in 2025 is on Saturday, 7 June. However, the celebration depends entirely on the movement of the Moon.
Eid ul Adha commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail in obedience to God.
National Day (9 August)
National Day, or Singapore Independence Day, is celebrated annually on 9 August. In 2025, it falls on a Saturday.
Deepavali (20 October)
Deepavali is the festival of lights celebrated almost all over Singapore. The holiday for the festival in 2025 is on Monday, 20 October.
