Saudi Arabia resumed issuing Umrah visas on 31 May 2026. The 1448 AH season is open now and runs until 7 April 2027, so there is no longer a wait: you can apply today.
When Umrah visas resumed
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced that Umrah visa issuance for the 1448 AH season resumed on 31 May 2026 (14 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 AH), with international pilgrims able to enter the Kingdom from that date.
Entry to Makkah and issuance of Umrah permits via the Nusuk app began one day later, on 1 June 2026.

How to apply now the season is open
All Umrah visa applications must go through the Nusuk Umrah platform or an approved external Umrah agent authorised by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
Every Umrah visa must be linked to a verified Nusuk hotel booking in Makkah, Madinah, or both, and pre-booked ground transport is also required.
Holders of a valid Saudi tourist eVisa from eligible nationalities can also perform Umrah without a separate Umrah visa while the season is open. A separate Umrah permit must still be issued through the Nusuk app before entering Masjid al-Haram.
Applicants should have:
- a passport valid for at least six months
- a recent photo
- proof of accommodation in Makkah or Madinah
- a confirmed return flight
Bookings for hotels in Makkah and hotels in Madinah must be made through Nusuk-verified providers.
Rules for 1448 AH season
- Pilgrims must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days of the Umrah visa being issued, down from the previous 90 days, per the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. If you miss this 30-day entry window, the visa lapses and you will need to reapply through Nusuk.
- Maximum stay on an Umrah visa remains 90 days from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia.
- All pilgrims aged one year and above must present proof of a meningococcal vaccine covering ACYW, administered at least 10 days before arrival.
