India’s e-Tourist Visa is accepted at 33 designated international airports, and you must arrive at one of them. Entry through any other airport will be refused.
The list is set by the Bureau of Immigration on the official Indian Visa Online portal. It has expanded over the years and now covers every major metro plus most second-tier cities popular with tourists.

What about exit points?
You can leave India from any authorised Immigration Check Post, not just the 33 e-Visa entry airports.
That means it’s fine to fly into Delhi on your e-Visa and depart from a smaller airport like Patna, Srinagar, or Tirupati — as long as it’s an authorised ICP. The entry restriction only applies to your arrival.
A few things to check before you book
- Make sure your inbound flight lands at one of the 33 airports above — connecting through one isn’t enough; you must clear immigration there.
- Land border crossings are not valid for e-Visa entry — only Raxaul, Rupaidiha, Jogbani and Darranga land posts accept e-Visa, and only from Nepal or Bhutan.
- Carry a printed copy of your Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) — biometrics are captured on arrival.
