The route pauses are tied to conflict-zone risk and the operational uncertainty created by airspace restrictions, diversions and short-notice airport disruptions.
EASA’s Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman bulletin (CZIB 2026-07R2), valid through 30 September 2026, recommends avoiding Persian Gulf waters except where necessary for airport arrivals or departures, and Gulf of Oman waters west of 58°E. It advises caution over land in the affected flight information regions.
