Brazil and Morocco both finished on seven points and advanced to the round of 32, with Brazil topping the group on goal difference after a 3–0 win over Scotland. Morocco took second following a 4–2 win over Haiti.
Scotland finished third on three points but missed the cut for the eight best third-placed teams, so they are out alongside fourth-placed Haiti.

Unlike the host-nation groups, none of Group C’s matches leave the country, and all six are in the United States, spread across five cities on the East Coast and in the South.

Following Group C means hopping around the US, from the New York area, up to Boston, down to Philadelphia, then south to Miami and Atlanta for the final round. Domestic flights and rail connect them well, as our US transport guide explains.
