US To Israel Travel Restrictions, Flights News & Travel Ban In 2021 – Advisory & Requirements

Quarantine is required

Mandatory quarantine for vaccinated travelers
Travelers with a valid vaccination or recovery certificate are required to quarantine until they receive the result of the COVID-19 PCR test taken on arrival in Israel or quarantine for 24 hours (whichever is earlier).

COVID-19 test required

Mandatory COVID-19 test on arrival
All travelers must take a COVID-19 PCR test on arrival. Travelers must pay for COVID-19 PCR tests required for entry to Israel either on arrival in Israel or before travel.

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers are required to wear masks in public places, on flights, and public transportation.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Travelers are required to have a valid vaccination certificate showing they received the full course of vaccination in Israel, before traveling. This will be proven with a “Green Pass.”

Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Sinopharm, Sinovac, and SputniK-V are all approved by the Israeli Ministry of Health.

Travelers vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, or Sinopharm must have received 2 vaccine shots, and it must have passed 14 days or more since their second vaccine before arrival in Israel (but no more than 180 days upon leaving Israel).

Travelers vaccinated with Janssen’s vaccine must have received their vaccination 14 days or more before arrival in Israel (but no more than 180 days upon leaving Israel).

Travelers vaccinated with a booster dose must have received their vaccination 14 days or more before arrival in Israel.

As of October 15th, 2021, travelers who are vaccinated with Sputnik, and who are subject to a positive serology test result in Israel (will remain in isolation until a positive result is obtained), must have received 2 vaccine shots, and it must have passed 14 days or more since their second vaccine before arrival in Israel (but no more than 180 days upon leaving Israel).

Travelers with an approved digital certificate may upload their certificate to the entry form to receive their “Green Pass.” Travelers without a digital certificate may declare their vaccination status in the entry form and attach relevant documents before receiving their “Green Pass.”

Mandatory health insurance
Travelers entering Israel who do not have a ‘Green Pass’ are required to provide proof of valid health insurance with COVID-19 coverage.

-Israeli citizens and residents.

Mandatory travel authorization form before arrival
Foreign travelers are required to have an electronic approval obtained 10-21 days before departure. Travelers with a valid stay permit are required to complete a separate form.

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure from the country of origin.

A negative COVID-19 test result must be presented in English along with the traveler’s passport number.

Details and Exemptions:Travelers unable to take a test because of humanitarian grounds, or special personal needs, or if it is physically impossible to gain access to PCR testing in the location they are flying from, may apply to the Exceptions Committee.
Travelers who have recovered from COVID-19 will be permitted to travel if they have a positive test result no less than 11 days and up to 3 months before their flight.
