The Skytrax World Airline Awards 2022 crowned Qatar Airways the best airline in the entire world, with Singapore Airlines Ltd. and Emirates taking the second and third places, correspondingly.
All Nippon Airways Co. of Japan and Qantas Airways Ltd. of Australia completed the top five in a solid performance for Asia-Pacific airlines, although Cathay Pacific of Hong Kong, which has been completely grounded, fell to 16th rank from 6th place the year before.
The top airlines for every cabin class were also recognized in the awards. Singapore Airlines won the award for the best first-class cabin, and Qatar won the award for best business class. Both Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. and Emirates received awards for having the finest economy cabin.
