The Ministry of Public Health, Qatar, has taken stringent measures to combat and mitigate the detrimental effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensure that the country and its citizens are on the road to recovery.

The RT-PCR test is considered the best method in yielding the most accurate results for COVID-19 diagnosis. As such, the Qatari government strives to ensure that RT-PCR testing is widely available to the general population through testing centres established throughout the country.

Covid-19 PCR Tests are currently available in all Primary Health Care Corporation Health Centers and Qatar’s Ministry of Health advises people with signs and symptoms of COVID-19 to go directly to any of these health centres for testing, free of charge, and avoid contact with other people until the test result is confirmed.

How much do COVID tests in Qatar cost?

The price for the PCR test in Primary Health Care Corporation Health Centers is free of cost. The price for the PCR test was earlier fixed at QR 300 by the Ministry of Public Health Qatar (MoPH) but has now been reduced to QR 160 per test. In contrast, the rapid antigen test and serology antibody test will both cost QR 50.
