The Government of Japan has announced a significant relaxation of visa requirements for Saudi nationals, as reported by Wego. Under the new policy, the Japanese government will introduce a multiple-entry visa scheme exclusively for Saudi nationals who meet specific financial criteria.

Effective from 4 December 2023, this initiative is designed to facilitate short-term stays for purposes such as tourism, business, and visiting relatives or friends. The granted visa will have a period of stay of 90 days and a validity of 3 years. Applicants interested in availing themselves of this multiple-entry visa scheme are required to visit the Japanese Embassy or Consulate-General in Saudi Arabia to submit their applications.

In addition to this, the Japanese government has introduced the Japan e-visa for those seeking a single-entry visa for tourism. Contrary to the mentioned date of 27 March 2023, the Japan e-visa became available from 1 November 2023. Individuals interested in this option are encouraged to visit the Japanese Embassy website or contact the consular section for more information

By simplifying visa procedures, the Japanese government aims to attract more visitors from Saudi Arabia, ultimately contributing to the growth of tourism and business activities between the two nations. This latest development underscores Japan’s commitment to fostering international relations and promoting cross-cultural exchanges
