Kazakhstan: Closed for Travel

Entry restricted for international travelers
Travelers from selected countries are not allowed to enter Kazakhstan.

Details and Exemptions:Entry restrictions do not apply to:
-Citizens and residents of Kazakhstan;
-Diplomats;
-Spouses, parents, and children of Kazakhstani residents or nationals;
-Some employees of designated companies in critical industries;
-Travelers with a visa issued by Kazakhstan after March 16th, 2020;
-Travelers with a visa issued by Kazakhstan before March 16th, 2020, and approved by the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan;
-Students;
-Travelers traveling on business and approved by the Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.

COVID-19 test required

Proof of negative COVID-19 test results
Unvaccinated travelers must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The result must be issued a maximum of 3 days before arrival in Kazakhstan.

Details and Exemptions:This requirement does not apply to:
-Travelers aged 5 years and under;
-Travelers that have been fully vaccinated with a vaccination certificate recognized by Kazakhstan.

Masks are required

Masks are mandatory in public
Travelers must wear masks in public including both indoor and outdoor spaces and on public transportation.

Health screening on arrival
All travelers will have their temperature measured and be required to fill out a questionnaire on arrival.

Required Documents for your Trip

Mandatory proof of vaccination
Most travelers must have a vaccination certificate showing they received a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 in the Republic of Kazakhstan or in a country whose vaccinate certificates are recognized by Kazakhstan. Foreign students also have an option to present a certificate/vaccination passport issued by the authorized body of their country of residence.

Travelers unable to present a valid certificate may be required to comply with rules for unvaccinated travelers.
