As international travel rebounds in the aftermath of the global pandemic, many passengers also want to ensure a seamless airport and flight experience. To offer its customers a convenient and effortless experience, Etihad Airways has its own health passport initiative called ‘Verified to Fly’.

If you have planned your trip with Etihad Airways, here’s everything you need to know about using Etihad’s Verified to Fly service to easily submit all your COVID-19 travel documents for prior approval and enjoy a hassle-free trip.

What is Etihad’s Verified to Fly service?

Etihad’s Verified to Fly service allows travellers to validate their COVID-19 travel documents before arriving at the airport. To get verified to fly, passengers must upload their documents at least 72 hours before their scheduled flight.

The Verified to Fly service by Etihad Airways is available for Abu Dhabi and all other airports globally, except for China, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Passengers can skip the Verified to Fly step if their destination has no COVID-19 requirements. Your travel documents will be automatically verified if you are travelling to Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Egypt, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kuwait, Oman, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

When do you need to use the Verified to Fly service?

Travellers must check the COVID-19 requirements for their destination at least 7 days before their trip and can upload the required travel documents from 72 to two hours before the scheduled flight.

You must submit your pre-departure COVID-19 PCR test results as soon as possible to avoid delays in processing your health status before travelling.

What are the required documents for the Verified to Fly service?

As mentioned earlier, you must first check the COVID-19 requirements for your destination at etihad.com/manage. For this, you will need to enter your flight and contact details. There is no need to upload visa or passport details since this will be checked once you arrive at the airport. The service is entirely free of cost for all passengers travelling via Etihad Airways.

How to use the Verified to Fly service?

To successfully upload all you COVID-19 related health documents before you arrive at the airport, you will need to complete the following steps and get Verified to Fly:

  • Check the COVID-19 requirements for your destination.
  • Visit http://etihad.com/manage to upload your documents.
  • Click on ‘manage my booking’ and enter all required details such as your name, email id and booking reference/PNR number.
  • The airline will then email you the Covid-19 requirements for your destination.
  • You can reply to this email with the relevant documents and Submit the negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate at the earliest.

Once you have uploaded all documents, the airlines will verify them within 12 hours; after which you may proceed with the web check-in and download your boarding pass. Then head straight to the Etihad Verified to Fly desks at the airport.

Check Etihad’s Verified to Fly status

You can check the status of their submission at etihad.com at any time before your departure flight. Please note: the ‘Verified to Fly’ status may change if the flight is delayed or cancelled. If this happens, you may be asked to re-submit your documents.

Etihad has recently launched 5 seasonal routes connecting Abu Dhabi to summer hotspots across Europe and the Indian Ocean. Etihad’s Verified to Fly service provides a fast-track experience before checking in at the airport and assures passengers of already having met all Covid-19 travel requirements.
