New passport price

To obtain a Canadian passport, applicants must be citizens or qualifying Canadian nationals. New applicants, individuals aged 16 or under, or those unable to renew by mail must apply in person at a post office. Adults must provide proof of Canadian citizenship, a document to verify their identity, two identical passport photos taken within the last six months (with one certified by their guarantor), and pay fees based on the chosen processing speed.

Renewal of passport price

Canadian passports can be renewed by mail or in person, depending on eligibility criteria. To renew by mail, applicants must have an undamaged passport issued within the last 15 years, when they were 16 or older, bearing their current name or have legal documentation for a name change.

To apply for passport renewal, the applicant must submit the Canadian passport renewal application form along with the old passport, a passport photo, and the required fees. The fees associated with passport renewal are as follows.

Lost or stolen passports must be reported immediately, with replacement steps varying depending on location. If you’re applying for a Canadian passport from outside Canada and the United States, you have the convenient option of paying your passport fees online.

 

To complete this process, you will need the following:

  • a PDF reader software
  • a printer
  • a valid credit or debit card for payment
  • a valid email address

Once you have these requirements in place, you can follow these steps to pay your passport fees online:

  • visit the IRCC website for online fee payment
  • click on “Pay your fees online”
  • select the type of passport you are applying for and specify the quantity. On the side, you will see the corresponding price
  • click “Submit”
  • you will then be presented with a summary of the fees. Double-check all the information to ensure accuracy, and then click “Login and Pay”
  • log in with your account or register if you are a new user, and proceed to make your payment using your credit or debit card

Upon successful payment, you must complete the process by doing the following:

  • Print a receipt of your payment: After making your payment, be sure to print a receipt as proof of your payment.
  • Include the receipt with your application: The printed receipt should be included with your passport application to confirm that the fees have been paid.
