A new electronic visa waiver system, the “ETA visa”, has been announced for Saudi citizens traveling to Britain, Wego reports. This development is the result of discussions between Eng. Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, and Tariq Ahmad, British Minister of State.

The ETA visa, which replaces the current “EVW visa”, will take effect on 22 February, with applications open from 1st February. The new visa offers a validity period of up to two years, permits multiple entries, and comes with a nominal fee of GBP 10. It is designed to facilitate seamless travel to the UK for Saudi citizens for purposes such as tourism, business, short study, or medical treatment.

This initiative serves as a clear demonstration of the ongoing collaboration and shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Britain. The streamlined process aims to enhance accessibility for Saudi travelers and simplify the visa application procedure.
