IPL 2024 auction

The IPL 2024 Player Auction is scheduled to be held at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19, 2023. Each team will enter this auction with a purse of around INR 100 crore. This will also be the first time the auction is held outside India.

A total of 700 players are expected to be auctioned at the event, including big names like Australian skipper Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, World Cup final player of the match Travis Head, and New Zealander Rachin Ravindra.

The 2023 auction saw a total of 80 players sold and INR 1,67,00,00,000 spent collectively amongst the ten franchises in Kochi, Kerala. The auction was heavily dominated by the all-rounders, who were in massive demand. English all-rounder Sam Curran smashed an all-time record and became the most expensive player in the history of IPL auctions. A similar outcome is expected this year as well.
