Manama, the capital of Bahrain, has been designated as the Gulf tourism capital for 2024, as recently announced by Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, the Minister of Tourism. This recognition, as reported by Wego and cited from the Bahrain News Agency, underscores Manama’s pivotal role in bolstering regional tourism efforts. A series of events are set to celebrate this throughout the year.

These events, showcasing Bahrain’s rich heritage and cultural vibrancy, aim to promote Bahrain as an ideal tourist destination. They cater to both GCC citizens and residents, offering a diverse range of activities from marine adventures to cultural extravaganzas, live concerts, and musical performances.

To maintain the momentum of tourism, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced “Eid in Bahrain” activities from April 9 to 14, 2024. These activities will feature exclusive travel packages, cultural celebrations, and musical performances across various regions of the Kingdom.

During Eid al-Fitr, visitors and residents can look forward to entertaining activities at two prominent venues: the Cultural Hall in Manama and the Muharraq Model Youth Centre Theatre in Busaiteen. These activities will feature comedies and family plays, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Bahrain’s retail centers will also play a significant role in Eid celebrations, offering music, light shows, and various exciting activities to engage visitors. For those seeking exclusive stays and tourism trips, three- to five-star hotels and resorts across Bahrain will be offering special deals. Guests of all nationalities can indulge in hospitality and entertainment packages at popular attractions throughout the country.

Music enthusiasts can anticipate electrifying live concerts at the Al Dana Amphitheatre in April and May 2024, featuring renowned regional and international artists, including Mohammed Abdu, Khaled Al Shaikh, Amr Diab, and Metro Boomin.

In addition, BTEA has introduced the “Ramadan in Bahrain” Tourism Guide to further enhance tourism during Ramadan. This guide presents captivating tourist activities, Suhoor and Iftar offerings, and luxurious accommodation packages tailored for GCC nationals and residents.

Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of BTEA, reaffirms the authority’s commitment to launching innovative festivals and initiatives. These efforts aim to attract more tourists, diversify the tourism product, and solidify Bahrain’s position as a preferred tourist destination both regionally and globally. With its blend of entertainment, cultural richness, and hospitality, Bahrain promises a memorable experience for families and individuals seeking relaxation and unique entertainment options.
