The ordinary Machine Readable Passport (MRP) is provided to all Pakistani citizens for international travel, once all the required procedures are done. Here are the processing times for this passport:

  • urgent: 5 working days

Official passports are issued to Pakistani nationals holding positions such as senators, MNAs, provincial ministers, judges of the Supreme Court of Pakistan/High Courts, and government officers traveling abroad for official assignments, as per Schedule III of Passport Rules 2021.

Diplomatic passports are issued to the dignitaries of the State, Diplomats and other entitled categories in pursuance of Schedule IV of Passport Rules 2021

The issuance and processing of machine-readable Diplomatic Passports shall be carried out by the Headquarters of the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports in Islamabad, under the authorization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
