Getting to Poland from Ukraine

In order to assist Indian nationals to reach Polish borders, the Indian Embassy in Poland has arranged 10 buses at Shehyni on the Ukraine side l of the border that will take Indian citizens to other border checkpoints for transit entry into Poland.

These buses have been operational from 28th February, 2022 and drive through the other border checkpoints, e.g., Krakowiec and Budomierz, and will drive them to the residential accommodation arranged by the Embassy at Rszeszow, Poland. This facility will be paid for by the Government of India and will be provided free to Indian citizens.

This will reduce the crowding at Shehyni and also provide Indian citizens a safe environment away from the cold. It may be noted that these buses are meant only for people who are waiting at the Shehyni border and not for people who are staying in Lviv and nearby towns.

People lodged in Lviv and nearby towns are advised to stay there till the congestion at Shehyni border is eased.

Indian nationals arriving at the Poland-Ukraine border by public conveyance i.e. by bus or taxi, are advised to make for the Shehyni-Medyka border crossing. The Government of Poland is allowing people to cross the border on foot only via Shehyni-Medyka border point. The Krakowiec crossing is for persons traveling in their own vehicles.
