Dubai is paving the way for a transformative shift in work procedures with the launch of the Work Bundle platform by the UAE government. This innovative platform is designed to streamline employee residency procedures and work permits in private-sector companies.

In this article, Wego will explore the features and advantages of the Work Bundle platform and its potential to reshape employment procedures.

What is the Work Bundle Platform?

The Work Bundle Platform, recently launched in Dubai, marks a significant milestone in the procurement of work permits and residency visas. It aligns with the “Zero Bureaucracy” initiative, which seeks to simplify government procedures and offer proactive services, thereby streamlining the entire process.

Notably, processing time has been significantly reduced from nearly one month to just five days, complemented by a decrease in required documents from 16 to five. This streamlined approach also minimizes the number of visits to service centers, reducing them from seven to only two.

Endorsed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Work Bundle Platform aims to simplify and speed up residency and work permit procedures. It is projected to save 62 million working days previously spent on renewals and contracts, with an annual reduction of 25 million procedures.

Designed to cater to the business community, the platform provides a comprehensive range of services, including renewal, cancellation, medical examination, and fingerprinting. This initiative is the outcome of close collaboration between federal and local government entities, with the aim of providing clients with the most streamlined and efficient transaction processes available through digital platforms.

Work Bundle platform entities

The Work Bundle platform is a collaborative effort involving several entities, including Mohre, ICP, GDRFA, and DHA. The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Digital Dubai support this project, with the latter providing the digital infrastructure to facilitate seamless service interactions among government entities.

How to access the Work Bundle platform?

In its initial phase, the Work Bundle will be accessible through the Invest in Dubai platform, along with several other government digital platforms. Additionally, individuals can access the platform directly at WorkinUAE.

To recruit a new employee from outside the country, the process involves several steps:

  • fill out the unified application
  • issue a work permit for the employee
  • employee proceeds to complete residency procedures, including mandatory steps such as medical examination and issuance of the Emirates ID card, which require the employee’s presence

For renewal services, the company owner needs to follow these steps:

  • fill out the unified application
  • employee completes the medical examination and is issued the Emirates ID card

These streamlined procedures ensure efficiency and ease of access for employers and employees alike through the Work Bundle Platform.
