Waterparks are the best ever inventions for us grown-ups. It’s a place where it’s completely appropriate and expected to act like kids again. At the Schlitterbahan Waterpark in Kansas, mega-slide designer Jeff Henry and engineer John Schooley are the first to taste the adrenalin rush of their newest creation, the Verruckt Waterslide, which is now the tallest of its kind in the world. In case you’re wondering, ‘verr¼ckt’ means ‘insane’ in German. Hmmm.

After climbing the 264 steps first, you’d probably be happy to lay back from sheer exhaustion on what looks like very comfortable, specially designed, four person rafts and slide down in a real hurry. The 17 storey, 168 ft 7 inches high (51.38 metres) slide-zilla will see an adrenalin and endorphin explosion over Kansas, I’m sure. And whatever makes you feel like a kid again is super in our books.
