Can I travel from Bangladesh to the UAE?

In most cases, no.

Due to the ongoing travel ban, only the following categories of travellers from Bangladesh are permitted to enter the UAE.

  • Members of diplomatic missions
  • Holders of UAE golden visa
  • UAE nationals
  • Passengers exempted and/or granted permission to enter the UAE by the appropriate authorities
  • Passengers travelling on a business flight who have a valid COVID‑19 PCR test certificate

Transit passengers

The UAE National Emergency and Crisis Management Authority (NCEMA) has announced that passengers travelling from Bangladesh would be able to transit through its airports from August 5 as long as they present a negative PCR coronavirus test taken 72 hours prior to departure.

The authorities have said that final destination approval would also have to be provided, adding that UAE departure airports would arrange separate lounges for transiting passengers.

Testing guidelines

All passengers travelling to the UAE must present a negative COVID 19 PCR (nucleic acid) test result conducted within 72 hours of departure from Bangladesh. Only COVID‑19 PCR test reports from certified labs that issue a QR code linked to the original report will be accepted.

UAE nationals are exempted from the above requirements but subject to COVID‑19 PCR test on arrival in Dubai.

Quarantine requirements

On arrival in the UAE, all travellers from Bangladesh will have to go under mandatory quarantine for 10 days. Besides, the travellers will have to wear a medically approved tracking wristband provided by the airport authorities during the quarantine period.

The travellers under isolation will also have to take a PCR test on days four and eight.
