The Oman transit visa is a single-entry visa that allows individuals to stay in Oman for the purpose of airport transit. To obtain this visa, it is necessary to be sponsored by an airline that operates in Oman and to transit through the country using that specific airline.
In addition to being sponsored by and flying with an airline that transits in Oman, the following requirements must be met:
- possess a passport valid for at least 6 months upon entry to Oman
- enter and leave Oman only by air
- not have any other current Oman visa
- include two other countries in your travel itinerary
- have sufficient funds to cover expenses in Oman
- have an onward ticket
To apply for this visa, you only need to prepare a copy of your valid passport and other supporting documents that prove your purpose of staying in Oman.
The Oman transit visa will be valid starting from the date it is issued and cannot be prolonged or extended beyond that period. With this visa, individuals are permitted to remain in Oman for a duration of up to 72 hours. It is important to note that overstaying beyond this timeframe will result in a daily fine of OMR 10 (USD 26).
