The DGIP has recently implemented an SMS-based Passport Tracking Intimation System. All you have to do is to write and send your 11 digits token number to 9988 via SMS, and your passport status will be sent to you via SMS immediately, providing timely updates to applicants regarding the various stages of passport processing, such as printing and shipment/delivery. These updates are sent directly to the applicants’ registered mobile numbers.
