What is the Speed Park Track at Qiddiya City?

In light of the potential hosting of two F1 races in the Gulf region, Saudi Arabia has unveiled ambitious designs for a state-of-the-art motorsport circuit within the upcoming Qiddiya city.

Located in the heart of Qiddiya City and dubbed the Speed Park Track, this adaptable circuit seamlessly combines functionality, cutting-edge technology, and unparalleled customer experiences. Positioned to host a prestigious lineup of the world’s most renowned racing events, it promises to set new standards in motorsport excellence.

 

The Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, Abdullah Aldawood, on the reveal of the Speed Park Track, stated that “The Speed Park Track will be a true embodiment of Qiddiya’s power of play philosophy and will position Qiddiya City as the home of Saudi motorsport and one of the world’s leading motorsport venues.”

As per the authorities, with the development of this pioneering track, visitors and spectators will be treated to one of the most unique and immersive race experiences in the world designed by race drivers, for race drivers, ready to host some of the world’s biggest motorsport events.

Speed Park Track at Qiddiya City opening date

The opening date for Speed Park Track at Qiddiya City is yet to be released. Nonetheless, according to reports, the project may not reach completion until at least 2027.

Speed Park Track at Qiddiya City length

The exact length of the racetrack has not yet been disclosed to the public. However, it is speculated in the racing community to exceed the longest F1 track in the world, Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, which measures 7.004 kilometers.

What to expect at Speed Park Track at Qiddiya City?

The Speed Park Track has two specific sections: a street circuit section and a fast open track section. These sections are seamlessly integrated into Qiddiya’s environmental attractions, bringing entertainment, sports, and culture into a single, vibrant location.

With 21 corners strategically placed, the new track capitalizes on Qiddiya City’s dramatic landscape, delivering over 108 meters of elevation gain per lap. Moreover, it will feature a unique elevated first corner, known as Blade, which rises 20 stories above a concert space below it.

Alongside this spectacular feature, drivers will navigate the track alongside Falcon’s Flight, the world’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster situated at the neighboring Six Flags Qiddiya City.  Sections of the track will also intertwine with a water theme park within the city. 

Apart from this, the circuit will be surrounded by heart-pounding attractions, a plethora of experiences and events that seamlessly integrate the excitement of motorsports with the vibrancy of cultural and entertainment hubs. This fusion embodies Qiddiya’s philosophy of harnessing the power of play.
