Saudi Arabia has recently highlighted a major change in the calculation of the validity of the Umrah visa, Wego reports. Previously, Umrah visas were valid for 3 months from the pilgrims’ entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Now, the validity starts from the date the visas are issued.

According to the circular from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Umrah visa holders can enter the Kingdom until the 15th of Dhul-Qi’dah, corresponding to 23 May 2024. Furthermore, the visa validity will expire on the 29th of Dhul-Qi’dah of each Hijri year, equivalent to 6 June 2024.

 

The change was coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to refine the arrangements for the Hajj season. The Ministry accentuated that this alteration intends to a better management of the pilgrim activities during the Hajj season.
