However, the Saudi government has banned travel to India due to the prevailing situation of rising COVID cases in the country.

India is open to all travellers from Saudi Arabia and flights have also resumed their regular operations between the two countries.

Saudi Airlines

Saudia, the KSA’s flagship air carrier, has resumed daily flights between Saudi Arabia and India.

Saudi Arabia to India flight ticket price and schedule

  • Jeddah – Delhi: at least one direct flight available on all days of the week. Ticket prices start from SAR 1295.
  • Jeddah – Mumbai: up to six weekly flights and multiple daily flights on some days of the week. Ticket prices start from SAR 1260.
  • Riyadh – Delhi: up to six weekly flights. Ticket prices start from SAR 1260.
  • Riyadh – Mumbai: at least one flight available on all days of the week. Ticket prices start from SAR 1210.

Flight duration

Direct flights could take upto 4 to 5 hours, depending on your arrival and departing airports. Connecting flights could take upto 15 to 19 hours in accordance with the layover periods.

Emirates

Emirates operates only connecting flights between Saudi Arabia and India, with stopovers at the Dubai International Airport.

Since there are only connecting flights available with Emirates, each flight may take upto 10 or 15 hours.

Air India

Air India, the national carrier of India has both direct and connecting flights departing from Jeddah and Riyadh to prominent cities like Delhi, Mumbai and other airports.

Saudi Arabia to India travel rules

Who can travel to India from Saudi Arabia? 

As of now, travel to India from the Kingdom is not possible as the Saudi government has banned travel to India for Saudi citizens.

Moreover, outbound travel from Saudi Arabia has been strictly restricted to the following group of people:

  • Received three doses of COVID-19 vaccine, with the third dose received after three months of taking the second dose
  • Exemptions for those groups who have received a vaccine waiver on medical grounds as per the status on the Tawakkalna application
  • Those under 16 and 12 require two doses of the vaccine

Required documents

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has updated guidelines for international arrivals.

  • Travellers need to register themselves prior to arrival by submitting a self-declaration form before travelling to India, including travel details of the last 14 days. Keep this handy on your phone or on paper. 
  • Upload a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours before undertaking the journey or two-dose vaccination completed COVID-19 vaccine certificate in the self-declaration form.
  • Submit a declaration (while submitting the self-declaration form on Air Suvidha) with respect to the authenticity of the report and will be liable for criminal prosecution if found otherwise.
  • Give an undertaking through concerned airlines before flying to India that you would abide by the decision of the appropriate government authority any post-arrival requirement to undergo home/institutional quarantine/ self-health monitoring, as warranted.
  • Passengers need to download the Aarogya Setu app on their mobile phones.

Testing requirements

Pre-arrival testing

According to the latest PCR test entry requirements, arrivals from Saudi Arabia to India are no longer be required to mandatorily upload a negative PCR test report taken within 72 hours. Arrivals from Saudi Arabia now have an alternative option of showing their full Vaccination Certificate, instead of uploading their negative RT-PCR report.

Post arrival testing 

  •  A sub-section (2% of the total passengers in the flight) shall undergo random post-arrival testing at the airport on arrival.
  • Such travellers in each flight shall be identified by the concerned airlines. They will submit the samples and shall be allowed to leave the airport.
  • If the travellers test positive, their samples should further be sent for genomic testing at the INSACOG laboratory network.
  • They shall be treated/isolated as per laid down standard protocol.
  •  All travellers will self-monitor their health for 14 days post-arrival.

Quarantine rules

Arrivals from Saudi Arabia to India are not required to undergo quarantine requirements. All travellers arriving from Saudi Arabia will only need to self-monitor their health for 14 days.
