The torch was warmly welcomed amidst a festive atmosphere as it made its way through the historic site of Bajdah in NEOM. NEOM Deputy CEO Rayan Fayez received the torch from Salman Al-Faraj, a former Saudi national team and Al Hilal player, who is now part of the NEOM team. Al-Faraj, a distinguished athlete with eight Saudi League titles, five King’s Cups, three Saudi Super Cups, and two AFC Champions League wins, also represented Saudi Arabia in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Following this, the torch was carried by Omar Al-Thaqib, a Saudi national padel player and champion of the Saudi Games in both 2022 and 2023.
The torch’s journey began in Riyadh and will traverse various regions of the Kingdom, symbolizing the spirit of the Saudi Games, which is rooted in friendship and peace. It embodies a profound humanitarian message of peace, love, and optimism, inviting all citizens and residents to join in this major sporting celebration.
