How to get there

By air

• Daily Airbus A320 flights from Islamabad to Skardu take approximately 45 minutes, from which, in another 12 minutes, you reach the resort.
• During the flight, you’ll pass over scenic areas like Kaghan Valley, Gilgit, Rakaposhi Peak, K2, Nanga Parbat, Tirich Mir, and more.
• Before landing at Skardu Airport, the flight offers views of the Deosai Plateau and Shangrila Resort Hotel.

By road

Road (Route 1 – Karakoram Highway):

• Start the route early from Islamabad Motorway and drive through Abbottabad, Mansehra, Thakot, Besham, Dassu, and Chilas.
• Follow the mighty River Indus, and you’ll reach the Shangrila Hotel in Raikot by evening.
• Take a night break and continue to Shangrila, Skardu, after breakfast.

Road (Route 2 – Babusar Pass):

• Drive from Naran over Babusar Pass (usually open from mid-May; check road conditions beforehand).
• Drive time from Islamabad to Naran is 6 hours.
• Pass through Jaglot, stock up on essentials, and continue to Skardu.

6. Swiss Villa:  Contains 2 interconnected rooms with 2 attached bathrooms; one of the rooms is a master bedroom. 4 adults and 2 children are permitted to stay here, with the villa built close to the lake, presenting the resort’s view.
7. Executive Suite: Located in the VIP close to Suites featuring a placid lake view, master bedroom (with attached bathroom) and a lounge accommodating 2 adults and 1 child.
8. 2 Bedroom Executive Suite: Characterized by a master bedroom and twin bedroom with attached bathrooms for each alongside a lounge and a separate dining area for 4 adults and 2 children.
9. 3 Bedroom Executive Suite: Offers one master bedroom (attached bathroom), one twin bedroom (attached bathroom), and an extra room which can be accessed via the twin bedroom. It also contains a lounge and a separate dining area for 6 adults and 2 children at most.

The costs fluctuate depending on the type and availability of rooms, the duration of your stay and the prevailing season.

Entry fees

An entry fee of PKR 1,000 applies to visitors who are not staying at the resort but want to enjoy its attractions and facilities. The payment allows access to the lake, mini zoo, trout hatchery, boating, jogging track, and the rock lounge cafe. This entry fee does not entail access to the pagoda restaurant, the DC-3 cafe, or the conference hall.
