As part of the UAE’s commitment to attaining climate neutrality and minimizing carbon emissions, a groundbreaking initiative known as Sharjah Sustainable City is currently under construction. This exceptional residential development is designed to enhance the well-being of its inhabitants by providing contemporary, eco-conscious amenities, thereby enabling them to embrace the pinnacle of social, environmental, and economic sustainability.

Read on as Wego guides you through the stunning Sharjah Sustainable City.

What is Sharjah Sustainable City?

Developed by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) partnered with Diamond Developers, Sharjah Sustainable City will be the first sustainable residential community in the UAE. The City seeks to reduce carbon emissions while preserving a clean and healthy environment by relying entirely on zero net emissions energy. It is supported by sustainable facilities, such as electric cars, greenhouses, agricultural facilities, and many more.

The infrastructure in The City is facilitated by renewable energy and built using sustainable materials. It also promotes the concept of self-efficiency by producing its own zero-chemical vegetables through its greenhouses. Moreover, no water is wasted in The City because the wastewater is treated for irrigation across the neighborhood.

The residents in the community will be further spoiled with world-class public facilities, such as:

  • mosque
  • community mall
  • kids play area
  • urban farms
  • sports facilities and swimming pools
  • sustainable school
  • sustainable experience center
  • jogging and cycling track
  • urban farms and green houses
  • energy-efficient homes powered by a rooftop solar system
  • 100% of wastewater recycled and reused for landscape irrigation
  • smart design and villa positioning
  • driverless shuttles and EV charging stations
  • green spaces and pedestrian walkways

Sharjah Sustainable City location

Sharjah Sustainable City is located in Al-Rahmaniyah, near Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

The residential community extends over 7.2 million square feet, consisting of four phases, with 1,250 sustainable villas. Each of the phases covers between 2,035 and 3,818 square feet in area.

The villa in Sharjah Sustainable City will be available in three types, which are the 3 bedrooms villa, 4 bedrooms villa, and 5 bedrooms villa. All the villas are built with high-quality materials and sustainable designs, enabling the residents to save up to 50% on water and electricity bills.

The villas are adorned with high-quality textured porcelain tiles, fenomastic wall paint, and high-ceiling windows. The double-glazed insulated windows are further built to shield the villa from the heat of the outside environment. The residents can also enjoy the modern touches as the villas are equipped with smart house features.

Sharjah Sustainable City payment plan

The payment plan to purchase the villa includes a 10% down payment of the property value and monthly payments starting at AED 4,236. Additionally, residents are free of service charges for the first five years.

Below are the starting prices of each type of villa:

  • 3 bedrooms villa: starting from AED 2.1M
  • 4 bedrooms villa: starting from AED 2.15 M
