Travelers can now register for biometric check-in in several ways, including in person at the airline’s check-in counters, through self-check-in kiosks, and via the Emirates app.

Emirates app biometric recognition

Emirates has partnered with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) to provide international travelers the opportunity to expedite their airport experience by using biometric data for check-in at Dubai International Airport.

By utilizing biometric recognition technologies and the GDRFA’s pre-populated biometric database, passengers can be easily identified at multiple checkpoints throughout the airport, streamlining the process of Terminal 3 check-in, lounges, boarding, and immigration. The AI systems recognize each traveler’s unique facial features and link them to their passport for instant identity verification.

With the Emirates app, travelers no longer need to constantly reach for their passport or boarding pass at every point of the journey, making the airport experience even more convenient and efficient.

When registering for biometrics, you will be asked to give consent for the use of your image and facial dimensions at various biometric checkpoints throughout Dubai Airport. If you change your mind, you can withdraw your consent and cancel your registration at any time.
