Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus officially launched their new codeshare partnership on 13 March 2024, providing travelers with expanded access to destinations across the UK and Ireland, Wego reports.

The collaboration between the two airlines aims to offer enhanced connectivity for passengers, facilitating smoother journeys to various destinations, including those in Africa, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and New Zealand.

Under this agreement, Qatar Airways will integrate its codeshare on flights operated by Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional, the national carriers of Ireland. This strategic move further strengthens Qatar Airways’ ongoing partnership expansion with International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of Aer Lingus.

With this development, Qatar Airways now boasts codeshare coverage with all IAG carriers, including British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, and Aer Lingus, solidifying its position in the European market.

The codeshare initiative will enable seamless connections between Qatar Airways and Aer Lingus flights through key hubs in Dublin, London, and Manchester. Passengers will have access to an extended network, including Irish and UK destinations such as Aberdeen, Belfast, Cork, and Glasgow, as well as Qatar Airways’ global network via Doha’s Hamad International Airport.

Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing its benefits for customers seeking a wider range of travel options. Similarly, Reid Moody, Chief Strategy and Planning Officer of Aer Lingus welcomed the collaboration, highlighting the warm reception and extensive flight network awaiting Qatar Airways customers.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Qatar Airways’ expanded alliance with British Airways and Iberia, underscoring its commitment to enhancing global connectivity.
