An exquisite and efficient design

The Red Sea International Airport’s exquisite design makes it different from a regular civil airport. Determined to make the airport the first and last impression for all its guests, the Red Sea International Airport will be an extension of the luxurious and exclusive resorts at the Red Sea.

Moreover, the majestic and unique airport design with efficient space planning will allow the arrival and departure process to be completed effortlessly with only fewer steps. The airport’s efficient design will further minimise the processing times and have minimal human intervention.

With an aim to facilitate its flight procedures and airspace networks, Saudi’s new airport has also partnered with some key stakeholders, including GACA, Saudi Air Navigation Services, United ATS, FlyNas, FlyAdeal, TRSDC Operations, Red Sea Air Services Co., and more.

A unique baggage procedure

The entire operational plan for travel processes at the Red Sea International Airport ensures top-notch customer service and creates an environment that offers a smooth, unparalleled, and hassle-free travel experience for all its passengers.

As part of its efforts to make the baggage process more comfortable and easier for travelers, the aviation team is set on working on a unique baggage operating system that would allow passengers to collect their luggage without the need to visit a baggage claim area to pick up their bags.

While the passengers of the RSI are being escorted to the welcome center in the arrival area, a state-of-the-art baggage handling system will be used to handle the bags in a dedicated facility. This system will track each piece of luggage until it is delivered to the specific passenger.

Subtle and unobtrusive security arrangements

The security arrangements and procedures in Saudi’s new airport will be applied subtly and unobtrusively so that they do not interfere with the passengers’ privacy.

Enhancing the overall customer experience and living up to its claim of top-notch customer service, the security procedures will also be implemented to prioritize the customers, without violating the regulatory requirements for handling such operations.

A dedicated runway for seaplanes

The Red Sea International Airport will feature a dedicated runway for seaplanes and will establish a regulatory framework for water aerodromes, seaplanes and water runways, becoming the first and only airport in the Middle East and North Africa to do so.

Furthermore, the dedicated runway also allows small general aviation aircraft operations, facilitating direct air access to the destinations along the Red Sea.

Use of sustainable electric vehicles

Since the Red Sea International Airport will be an extension of the luxurious resorts at the Red Sea, the ground and sea-based mobility provided by the airport to reach the resorts will focus more on using sustainable electric vehicles, thereby ditching the use of petrol or diesel engine vehicles.

Moreover, an air taxi terminal is scheduled to open next year. This will initially be used by travelers to access the first tranche of hotels using a combination of air taxis and domestic and general aviation. The iconic main terminal building will further provide an international commercial aviation capability followed by a capacity for consecutive hotel delivery and operation tranches.

Comfortable departure procedures

Keeping in mind that the departure procedure is usually longer than the arrival procedure, Saudi’s new airport has been structured in a way that allows travelers to wait for long durations in relaxing and larger areas. The Red Sea International Airport features five departure suits that allow passengers to transition smoothly from their cars to the planes.

As a cherry on top, the departure pods additionally feature spas and restaurants that make the experience of the travelers’ cozier and more calming.
